Shock strike hits Eurotunnel and Eurostar services

Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train service, has cancelled all its operations to and from London until further notice due to a sudden strike. The strike has also impacted the Channel Tunnel operator, Eurotunnel, and its LeShuttle services. This disruption comes at a time when many individuals are beginning their travels for the Christmas holidays.

Eurotunnel is uncertain about the duration of the strike but is making efforts to resolve it as quickly as possible. In a separate incident, London Euston station has suspended all trains on Thursday due to damaged overhead power cables between Milton Keynes and Watford Junction. Consequently, Euston station is currently inaccessible to incoming passengers. Network Rail engineers are assessing the damage to the cables using drone technology.

The Channel Tunnel services are currently on hold after a variety of Eurotunnel staff, ranging from train operators to infrastructure managers, abruptly walked out. Eurostar has assured that affected customers will be directly informed about their journey and can either exchange their tickets at no cost or request a refund. The company is closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as soon as possible.
