The Wonder Stuff Rocks 40 Years with a Star-Studded Anniversary Tour!

The Wonder Stuff, an indie band from Stourbridge in the West Midlands, has announced a special tour to celebrate their 40th anniversary. The group first formed in the 1980s and has been a big part of the British music scene ever since. Their anniversary tour will start on 1 October at Newcastle's O2 City Hall and will include stops at famous venues like London's O2 Academy Brixton, Glasgow's Barrowlands, and The Halls in Wolverhampton. The current lineup features singer Miles Hunt, guitarist Malcolm Treece, violinist Erica Nockalls, guitarist Mark Thwaite, bass player Tim Sewell, and drummer Pete Howard. In a recent photo, some members are seen wearing sunglasses and checked shirts, while others are in jackets, showing their unique style.

Miles Hunt, the lead singer, expressed how grateful the band feels for their fans. He said it is a blessing to be able to tour again and called it an 'absolute honour' to play as many of their old favorite songs as possible. Hunt reflected on the band's early days, remembering their first rehearsal on 19 March 1986. He wondered what he and Malcolm Treece would have thought back then if they knew they would still be performing together 40 years later. Now at 59, Hunt says both he and Treece are incredibly thankful for the audiences who have supported them over the decades. He promised that the band would do their best to play all the classic songs their fans love.

The Wonder Stuff is known for several hit songs, including 'Unbearable', 'A Wish Away', 'Caught In My Shadow', 'Size Of A Cow', and 'Don't Let Me Down, Gently'. They reached number one in the charts with 'Dizzy', a collaboration with comedian Vic Reeves and backing vocals from Bob Mortimer. The band also had three more top 10 singles and four top 10 albums. After their headline performance at the Phoenix Festival in 1994, the group broke up but reunited in 2000 for five sold-out shows at London's Forum Theatre. For this anniversary tour, they will be joined by Manchester indie band Inspiral Carpets. Tickets will be available from 10:00 GMT on 27 March through The Wonder Stuff's website. The band is looking forward to reconnecting with their fans and celebrating four decades of music together.
