Toddler nearly runs off cliff at Hawaii volcano

Park ranger Jessica Ferracane witnessed the incident and expressed her hope that sharing this story will help prevent similar situations in the future. Kilauea has been erupting since December 23, and the current eruption is ongoing at a low level within a designated area of the national park. The incident occurred in a closed section of the park where families had gathered to view the lava. Ms. Ferracane emphasized that the boy would not have survived if he had fallen. Park rangers are urging visitors to adhere to park rules, stay on designated trails, and keep a close eye on their children. They warned that those who disregard the warnings and venture into closed areas are putting themselves and their loved ones in danger. Ms. Ferracane hopes that by sharing this alarming incident, it will raise awareness and help prevent future accidents.
