John Michie Joins Rebus Season 2 Cast for Thrilling Crime Drama Return

John Michie, a well-known actor from shows like Taggart and Holby City, has joined the cast of the BBC's Rebus for its second season. Rebus is a crime drama based on the best-selling novels by Sir Ian Rankin. The first season aired in spring 2024 and featured Richard Rankin as the main character, Detective John Rebus, who works in Edinburgh. The second season is now being filmed in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, and it is expected to be released in 2027. John Michie will appear as a guest star, joining regular cast members such as Brian Ferguson, who plays Rebus's younger brother Michael, and Lucie Shorthouse, who plays DC Siobhan Clarke.

John Michie is no stranger to crime dramas. He played DI Robbie Ross in Taggart for 12 years, making him a familiar face to fans of detective stories. After Taggart, he appeared in Coronation Street as Karl Munro, and later in Holby City as consultant neurosurgeon Guy Self.
