Dutch museum finds beer can artwork in bin

In a rather amusing incident, a Dutch museum recently discovered that a piece of artwork had been mistakenly thrown away. The artwork, titled 'All The Good Times We Spent Together,' was created by the French artist Alexandre Lavet. It consisted of two empty beer cans that had been carefully hand-painted to resemble art. The cans were displayed in the museum's lift, which is an elevator, and were meant to look like they had been left behind by construction workers. However, a lift technician, thinking they were just trash, discarded them. nnThe museum, known as LAM and located in Lisse, Netherlands, was in a bit of a panic when a curator noticed that the artwork was missing. The staff quickly began searching for the cans, and after some time, they were found in a bin bag. Fortunately, both cans were intact and unharmed. The museum staff cleaned the cans and placed them back at the entrance for visitors to see. Despite the mix-up, the museum expressed that they held no hard feelings towards the lift technician who made the error. He was simply covering for a colleague who was more familiar with the museum and its exhibits. nnSietske van Zanten, the director of the museum, shared that the theme of their collection revolves around food and consumption. She explained that their goal is to encourage visitors to view everyday objects in a different light. By showcasing art in unexpected locations, they aim to enhance the visitor experience and keep everyone engaged.
