Double Award-Winner Milly Fuels Farm Fun and Food Waste Fixes!

Milly Fyfe is a dedicated farmer and influencer from Yelvertoft, Northamptonshire. Alongside her husband Andrew, she manages a busy farm and leads several projects to help people connect with food and farming. This week, Milly received two important awards for her efforts. On Tuesday, she was named 'Farming Woman of the Year' at the National Women in Agriculture Awards. The very next day, she won another award in the food waste category at the Women in Food and Drink Awards. Milly was thrilled and said, 'I'm over the moon. ' She explained that her phone had not stopped buzzing with positive messages. The Countryside Kitchen has already welcomed hundreds of visitors since opening in July. Milly also runs an honesty shop, which sells surplus food from supermarkets that would otherwise be thrown away. This not only prevents food waste but also provides affordable meals for people and helps fund her educational work.

Milly is concerned about the amount of food wasted in the UK, especially because she knows how much effort farmers put into producing it. She finds it shocking that so much food is thrown away because of 'best before' dates, while many people go hungry. Milly believes the food system is broken, but she is proud to play a small part in fixing it. She is grateful for her family and the volunteers who support her projects, saying she could not achieve so much without them. As a woman who did not grow up in a farming family, Milly has worked hard to make her mark in agriculture.
