Colliderfest 2026: Hull’s Ultimate Science & Art Bash Returns Bigger!

Colliderfest is set to return to Hull in 2026, and organizers promise it will be 'bigger and bolder' than ever before. The festival, which celebrates both science and creativity, will take place from March 12 to March 15 in several locations around Hull's city center, including the Museums Quarter, Princes Quay, and The Deep. The event is designed for people of all ages, with activities and performances that are both educational and entertaining. Last year, the festival was a huge success, with children and adults dancing around a large, colorful sculpture in the city center, surrounded by Hull's impressive buildings and under a clear blue sky.

Colliderfest is unique because it brings together science, art, and the local community. Councillor Rob Pritchard said that the festival is about sparking new conversations and bringing people together. The first two days of the festival will focus on school-based activities, giving students the chance to explore science in fun and interactive ways. Over the weekend, the festival will open up to families and anyone interested in science, offering a wide range of hands-on activities, live performances, and interactive exhibits. There will also be two parades, both ending in Queen Victoria Square, which is known for its beautiful statues and grand buildings.

Some of the highlights from the previous festival included a large-scale light and sound installation, a street-theatre show featuring a 13-foot-tall sea creature puppet, and an appearance by Maddie Moate, a popular children's science TV presenter. Professor Mark Lorch, the festival director, said that Colliderfest is all about inspiring curiosity, creativity, and a sense of possibility in everyone. He is excited to see Hull come alive with discovery and imagination during the festival. The event is organized by the University of Hull and Hull City Council, with support from Hull Museums and The Deep. Most of the events will be free, but some will require tickets, which will be available when the full program is announced next year.
