Roseanna Brown Shines Among Hollywood Giants in Thrilling WWII Drama

Roseanna Brown, a British-Irish actress and singer from Windsor, Berkshire, has landed her biggest role yet in the new Hollywood drama Pressure. In this film, she plays the lead operator in US president Dwight Eisenhower's team, focusing on the tense 72 hours before D-Day during World War Two. The movie features a star-studded cast, including Brendan Fraser, Andrew Scott, and Damien Lewis. Roseanna has had smaller roles before, such as a Slytherin student in the Harry Potter series and a part in Thor: The Dark World, but Pressure marks a major step forward in her career.

Roseanna described her experience on set as 'the most amazing, amazing experience. ' She auditioned for the film in 2024 but didn't know which role she would play until she arrived on set. Her character is crucial, as she is the first to receive news about the success or failure of D-Day. Even though the outcome is well-known, Roseanna said acting out these moments was still very stressful and kept everyone on the edge of their seats. She learned a lot from her co-stars, especially Brendan Fraser, who played Eisenhower. She noticed how he would perform the same scene in different ways, sometimes showing strong emotions and other times staying calm. This taught her the importance of taking chances and being flexible as an actor.

Working with Damien Lewis and Andrew Scott was also a highlight for Roseanna. Damien was always friendly and greeted her every morning, while Andrew Scott gave her helpful feedback and praised her performance. She observed that some actors, like Damien, would switch in and out of character, while others stayed in character throughout filming. Watching the cast work together was inspiring for Roseanna, and she felt lucky to be part of such a talented group. Pressure was released in the US in May and will be in UK cinemas on 9 September. Roseanna, who now lives mostly in Los Angeles, believes the film will have a unique appeal in the UK. She dreams of future roles in historical dramas and fantasy, such as a Game of Thrones prequel, and would love to be the voice of a Disney princess. In addition to acting, Roseanna has found success as a singer with her siblings in the band The Rua.
