Discover Boardmasters' Rising Stars Lighting Up the Festival Stage!

Boardmasters is a popular music festival held at Watergate Bay, where more than 46,000 fans are expected to gather this year. Essy says she wants to show that great music can come from anywhere, not just big cities. Growing up in the South West, she feels proud to play such a big festival so close to home.

Another rising star is Abbie Piper, who will perform on The View stage on Friday. Abbie is from Cornwall and released her debut EP, Mirror Talk, earlier this year. Her unique voice has drawn comparisons to famous singers like Amy Winehouse and Joy Crookes. Even though she only started sharing her music online last year, Abbie has already been played on BBC Radio 1 and is returning to Boardmasters after performing there as a teenager more than ten years ago.

Peri Rae is another artist to watch at the festival. She was a late addition to the line-up, getting the call just a week before the festival began. Peri has changed her musical style this year, moving towards a heavier and more powerful sound. Her teaser videos have been watched over a million times on social media. One of her songs, which talks about being a woman in surf culture, has inspired many women to share their own experiences. Peri says the song started as a fun, rebellious anthem but has become a conversation about confidence and belonging. She is excited to return to Watergate Bay, where she performed two years ago in what she calls the biggest moment of her career so far.
