Sue Halfpenny, a trustee at Herne Bay Pier Trust, expressed her delight at the pier's inclusion in Black Mirror, stating, 'The more people we can get on the pier, the better. ' However, she noted that the filming process was shrouded in secrecy, with no one from the Trust permitted to discuss it. Sue humorously mentioned that the only thing they witnessed was the film crew using fake seagulls on sticks, joking, 'I guess the ones we have here weren't tame enough. ' Another picturesque location featured in the series is The Beacon House, located in Whitstable. This charming wooden house, built in the early 20th century, boasts breathtaking views of the Thames Estuary and is surrounded by a lovely garden. Rupert Symons, who helps manage The Beacon House, expressed his excitement about Netflix filming at the site, saying, 'The team were here for a few days and were a pleasure to host. ' The third location showcased in Black Mirror is Tankerton Beach, a popular local spot known for its pebble beach and wooden groynes. Visit South East England describes this beach as reminiscent of classic English postcards. With its inclusion in Black Mirror, it may soon be recognized for a new reason.
