Jack Savoretti Embraces Midlife Vibes in Soulful New Album Journey

Jack Savoretti is a British singer-songwriter who has been making music for two decades. He lives in the countryside near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire. Recently, Jack released his ninth album, 'We Will Always Be The Way We Were. ' He described the process of making this album as 'a bit like leaning into a midlife crisis,' meaning he was reflecting on getting older and the changes that come with it. Jack admitted that he was prepared for people not to care about his new music, but to his surprise, the album reached number two on the UK Official Albums Chart when it was released in April. This success built on his earlier achievements, including his top-charting albums 'Singing to Strangers' in 2019 and another in 2021.

Jack explained that most new music today is made by young artists and is about young love and excitement. He mentioned artists like Sienna Spiro, Olivia Dean, Sam Fender, and Lewis Capaldi, who are all very talented but sing about things that are more relatable to young people. As a 42-year-old father of three, Jack felt there was not much music for people in the 'afternoon of life,' which is how he describes middle age. He wanted to create songs for mothers and fathers, especially men, who might not find music that speaks to their experiences and worries. Jack said he wanted his album to be useful for anyone going through this stage of life. He believes that people do not really change as they get older, but they do grow and learn.

Jack recently performed two solo concerts at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London. He said the first night was very emotional for him, especially because his wife and children were in the audience. His five-year-old daughter was confused about why her father was on stage, which made Jack feel both proud and emotional. Jack and his wife, Jemma Powell, who is now a painter, decided to move from London to the countryside in Oxfordshire eleven years ago. They made the decision quickly because they wanted their children to grow up in a peaceful and beautiful environment. Jack loves living in the Cotswolds and says it reminds him of his childhood in Switzerland, near Lake Lugano. He enjoys meeting interesting people and feels that his home has helped him appreciate life more.

Jack is preparing for his biggest tour yet, which will take him to cities across Europe and the UK, including Zagreb, Athens, Milan, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, and Birmingham. He is also excited to perform at a special event with artists like Alanis Morissette, Skunk Anansie, Sierra Ferrell, and KT Tunstall. Jack and KT Tunstall have been friends for a long time, and they recently recorded a duet called 'Tempting Fate. ' Jack said he wanted a strong, powerful voice to sing with him and highlight the differences between men and women. KT Tunstall said she was impressed by Jack's soulful singing and felt inspired to do her best. Both Jack and KT are celebrating twenty years in the music industry, and Jack says that having a long and consistent career is something he always wanted. He feels proud and grateful that people still care about his music after all these years.
