Solar farm plans for fields by A1(M) submitted

Plans have been submitted for a large solar farm to be built on fields near the A1(M) motorway in North Yorkshire. The company behind this project, Brompton Solar Ltd, is seeking permission to install solar panels on aluminum frames on both sides of the motorway, just north of Brompton-on-Swale. This solar farm will cover an area of 80 hectares, which is quite significant, and it is expected to generate up to 39. 3 megawatts of energy. This amount of energy could power a large number of homes in the area. The developers have stated that the solar farm will operate for 40 years, after which the land will return to its original use as farmland. Brompton Solar Ltd is a subsidiary of Harmony Energy, a company based in Knaresborough. Harmony Energy previously managed the planning for a 55-megawatt solar farm at a nearby location called Skeeby, which they sold to a green energy company for a reported £38 million. The proposed solar farm will be located close to the western edge of the existing Skeeby development. According to the documents submitted with the plans, the solar panels will feature an anti-glare coating to minimize any glare or reflections, and the site will be designed with appropriate distances from the nearest residential properties. The developers have also conducted a consultation with the local community to gather feedback on their plans. They noted that they received several responses to the proposal, which they have taken into account as they refined their plans. As of now, the North Yorkshire Council has not received any comments regarding the submitted plans.
