Street Artist Scores Big: Dragons' Den Advice and a Dream Job Offer!

Nathan Murdoch is a well-known street artist from Peterborough who recently appeared on the BBC show Dragons' Den. He went on the show hoping to get a £60,000 investment for his business, Street Arts Hire, in exchange for a 10 percent share of his company. Nathan brought a large, impressive painting of a red dragon with yellow eyes to show the Dragons what he could do. He explained that the money would help him hire someone to coordinate the work for him and other artists, as they could only complete about 60 percent of the requests they received.

Nathan has made a name for himself in Peterborough by painting murals around the city. One of his most famous works is a tribute to Keith Flint, the singer from The Prodigy, which he painted in 2019. He also painted a portrait of footballer Jude Bellingham during the World Cup. In February, Nathan hosted an exhibition called Diesel Streets, which celebrated over twenty years of graffiti and street art in Peterborough. His art has become a big part of the city's culture, and many people recognize his work.

When Nathan appeared on Dragons' Den, all five Dragons were amazed by his talent. Steven Bartlett said that Nathan's dragon painting was so good it made him feel like he could never do something like that. Gary Neville called Nathan a creative genius and said his artwork was worth thousands of pounds. Although none of the Dragons decided to invest the £60,000 Nathan asked for, they all agreed that he needed good advice to help his business grow. Steven Bartlett was so impressed that he offered Nathan one-on-one advice and a job painting the walls of his new London office, promising to pay him five times his usual day rate. Nathan left the show without the investment but with valuable advice and a new job opportunity. He said that even though he didn't get the money, the advice was exactly what he needed, and he was grateful for the experience.
