Boy becomes best-selling author with first book

Zach Richardson, a 10-year-old boy from Hull, has achieved something remarkable by becoming a best-selling author with his very first book. Zach's book is a children's guide to reptiles, featuring fun rhymes, interesting facts, and his own colorful illustrations. Zach was thrilled when he saw how well his book was doing. He said, 'It's amazing and a great feeling, I was so proud and speechless. ' The book is organized alphabetically, with each letter representing a different reptile. For example, the page for 'K' features the Komodo Dragon, complete with Zach's drawings and a fact file. Zach's passion for reptiles started when he got his own gecko, Kirk, last December. He began researching lizards, snakes, crocodilians, and turtles, wanting to learn as much as he could. He said, 'I love reptiles and I think people don't like them and you're told to be scared of snakes. Reptiles aren't like that, they are beautiful animals. ' Zach's mom, Lucy, explained that Zach has been drawing since he was four years old and has always been surrounded by animals because his dad runs a pet shop. She said, 'He mastered drawing very quickly and I have always been astounded by his artistic talents. ' Lucy also shared that Zach's journey to publishing his book was not easy. He spent a long time working on it, sometimes bringing her drafts that weren't ready to be published. However, Zach was resilient and kept improving his work until it was ready. Lucy said, 'It's incredible how much effort he's put into it, it's fully deserved. ' Zach was inspired to write his book after his mom published her own book last year. He has always wanted to be an author and now, with his first book being a best-seller, he is excited to continue writing. He already has ideas for more books and wants to stick to the animal theme, with his next book focusing on geckos.
