The One Big Multicultural Festival in Ipswich reached a new milestone this year, drawing its largest crowd ever. Boshor Ali, one of the event organisers, expressed how important it is for the community to unite and support each other. He admitted to having a sleepless night worrying about the weather, but was relieved when the day turned out to be sunny and dry. The festival included popular acts like JS and the Lockabillies, a reggae choir, Bollywood dancers, and the local Pop Chorus choir. The atmosphere was lively, with women in bright outfits dancing in front of the stage and people enjoying the festive spirit.

Winston Brown attended the festival with his family and described the experience as beautiful. He shared his belief that everyone is connected and that the good weather was a blessing. Naadirah Rahim, who was giving henna tattoos, said she had customers from different races, genders, and ages, showing that henna is for everyone. She believes that events like this are important because they bring people together, regardless of their background. The festival was organised by BSC Multicultural Services and Ipswich Borough Council, with speakers on stage highlighting the need for unity and the value of diverse communities. Gulshan Kayembe, the High Sheriff of Suffolk, spoke about the importance of integrating and getting to know each other, especially in today's world where there are forces trying to divide people. The festival took place in Alexandra Park, near the centre of Ipswich, and was enjoyed by large crowds who relaxed outdoors, listened to music, and celebrated the town's multicultural spirit.
