The artwork shows a bridge over the New River, filled with people dressed in clothes from different historical periods. Sir Quentin explained that the bridge in the mural does not actually exist in real life; he invented it to serve as a 'bridge to the past. ' Most of the people on the bridge are characters he imagined, except for two men fishing, who were inspired by an old print from the 1700s.

The New River was an important project when it was built, as it provided clean water to the people of Clerkenwell and became a place for leisure and enjoyment. The centre hopes to teach visitors about this history through art. To celebrate the opening, the first 50 visitors will be allowed in for free if they draw an illustration on a voucher, which they can collect at the centre on opening day. After that, tickets to the three-gallery exhibition cost £16. 50 or £6. 60. The centre is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 10:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon.
