The landslip occurred in February 2024, and since then, investigations have failed to determine who is responsible for the problematic drain. This unresolved issue has left the owners worried about the future of their home. To address the immediate danger, they have submitted a request to the local council for permission to carry out extensive cliff stabilisation work. Their plan involves installing steel anchors deep into the cliff face to secure it, as well as constructing wire mesh cages filled with stone to act as a retaining wall. Additionally, they propose placing large stones at the base of the cliff to absorb the energy of waves and prevent further erosion.
