The star has about the same temperature and brightness, which is important when thinking about the possibility of habitable worlds. In our own solar system, some of Jupiter's moons, like Europa, are covered in ice and may have oceans of liquid water underneath. Scientists are currently studying these moons to see if they could support life. The new planet in Alpha Centauri is much closer to its star than Jupiter is to the Sun, which could make its moons even more interesting to study. Astronomers plan to use new telescopes, like the Grace Roman Space Telescope, which will start working in 2027, to look for more signs of the planet and learn what it is made of. They will use special techniques called spectral imaging to get a better picture of the planet and its moons, and to find out if any of them could be habitable. This discovery brings us one step closer to finding other places in the universe where life might exist.
