Katie was inspired to apply for the show after watching its first episode in 2025, feeling that many of the issues discussed resonated with her own experiences.

At first, Katie was very anxious about sharing her personal journey on television. She described her anxiety as being 'through the roof' when she arrived on the island. Meeting new people and facing new challenges made her feel nervous, and she struggled to speak up during the first two days. However, as she got to know the other participants, she began to feel more comfortable. The group quickly bonded, and Katie found support from the eleven other people on the show. She said the experience felt like stepping onto a movie set, and the positive atmosphere helped her open up.

During her time on Virgin Island, Katie talked about being bullied at school, something she had not planned to share. However, she never received formal sex education at school, so many of the topics discussed on the show were new to her. Katie said she 'loved every second' of being on the show and believed it was important to be completely open and honest. The supportive environment encouraged her to try new things and face her fears.

Since the show aired in April 2026, Katie has received a lot of positive feedback from viewers on social media, as well as love and support from her friends and family. She feels much more confident and happy now, saying that her confidence has 'gone through the roof.
