Greg said the food was amazing and thanked everyone for the suggestion. He also found a pub where drinks cost just two pounds and was given pink slices, which made him feel even more welcome. The Breakfast Show team enjoyed exploring the city and meeting local people.

The Big Weekend is Radio 1’s biggest music event of the year, and it takes place in a different city each time. This year, Sunderland will host the festival at Herrington Park from May 22 to May 24. The last time Sunderland hosted the Big Weekend was in 2005, when artists like Gwen Stefani, Foo Fighters, and The Black Eyed Peas performed.
