Thrive Eternal's strategy is to invest in iconic franchises and cultural institutions that bring people together. They have already bought a stake in the San Francisco Giants baseball team and are looking at other sports opportunities. The plan to invest in the World Cup was not about making a quick profit. Instead, the investors were prepared to wait decades before seeing any returns. If the plan had gone ahead, each Fifa member association could have received a large amount of money, which would help them build stadiums and improve training. The idea was to give countries that usually do not get much funding a chance to develop their football programs.

Fifa said the goal of the Forward Enterprise was to separate the business side of football from the governance of the sport. In England, football has become a huge business, with fans discussing financial deals and boardroom decisions as much as the matches themselves.
