The 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards brought together some of the biggest names in Hollywood for a night of celebration and recognition. Timothée Chalamet, at 30 years old, finally took home his first Golden Globe after five nominations, winning best actor in a musical or comedy for his performance in Marty Supreme. He triumphed over well-known stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney. While DiCaprio did not win in his category, his film One Battle After Another was the most awarded of the night, earning four trophies including best musical or comedy film and best director. Irish actress Jessie Buckley was another major winner, taking home best drama actress for her role in Hamnet, a film adaptation of Maggie O'Farrell's novel about the death of William Shakespeare's son. Hamnet also surprised many by winning best drama film, with director Chloe Zhao and producer Steven Spielberg expressing their gratitude and surprise during their acceptance speeches.

The ceremony also highlighted the achievements of other talented performers. Teyana Taylor, who began her career as a teenage choreographer for Beyonce, won best supporting actress for her role in One Battle After Another. In her emotional speech, she encouraged young girls, especially those who look like her, to believe in themselves and their dreams. Stellan Skarsgård, a veteran Swedish actor, won best supporting actor for Sentimental Value and used his moment to remind everyone of the importance of watching films in cinemas. Rose Byrne, representing Australia, was named best actress in a film musical or comedy for If I Had Legs I'd Kick You. She humorously thanked her family and explained her husband’s absence by saying he was at a reptile expo.

Television was also celebrated at the Golden Globes, with British actors Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, and Erin Doherty winning for their roles in the Netflix drama Adolescence. Sixteen-year-old Owen Cooper, who has already won an Emmy and a Critics Choice Award, remained humble, saying he is still learning from those around him. Seth Rogen won best comedy TV actor for The Studio, joking about how he once pretended to win a Golden Globe on his show. Other TV winners included Jean Smart for Hacks, Noah Wyle for The Pitt, and Michelle Williams for Dying for Sex. The first ever Golden Globe for best podcast was awarded to Amy Poehler for Good Hang with Amy Poehler. The night was filled with memorable moments, heartfelt speeches, and a sense of excitement as the industry looks ahead to the upcoming Academy Awards.
