Dua Lipa, the famous pop star, has denied reports that she fired her agent because of his pro-Israel views. The story started when some media outlets claimed that Dua Lipa ended her professional relationship with David Levy after he signed a letter asking Glastonbury festival organizers to drop the Irish rap group Kneecap due to their support for Palestine. Both Dua Lipa and her talent agency, WME, have said these reports are completely false. They explained that Levy stopped working with Dua Lipa back in 2019, and not because of any political disagreement.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Dua Lipa criticized David Levy's attempt to silence Kneecap, but she also pointed out that the news story was written to create division and get attention online. She said, 'I do not condone the actions of David Levy or other music executives toward an artist speaking their truth. ' Dua Lipa also said the language used in the news was meant to make people angry and was not accurate. She added, 'It is always Free Palestine, but exploiting a global tragedy in order to sell newspapers is something I find deeply troubling. ' Her agency, WME, also confirmed that Dua Lipa did not fire anyone because of their political views and that Levy had only been an advisor until earlier this year. The news outlet later updated their story to correct mistakes, including wrongly calling Levy her manager. Dua Lipa's father has been her manager since 2022.

Kneecap's performance at Glastonbury went ahead in June, even though some politicians wanted the band removed from the lineup. One member of Kneecap, Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, was charged with a terrorism offense after holding up a flag at a concert last year, but he said he did not know what the flag represented. The band led the crowd in chants of 'Free Palestine' during their set, and the BBC decided not to stream their performance live, although it was later shown online. Dua Lipa has also spoken out about the conflict in Gaza, calling for a humanitarian cease-fire and condemning attacks on children. She joined other celebrities in asking the UK government to stop selling weapons to Israel, saying that leaders need to act to help the people of Gaza.
