Detective Inspector Emma Portfleet from Essex Police says their goal is to teach not only adults and parents but also children about deepfakes in a way that is easy to understand and not frightening. She believes that everyone should hear the same message so that more people can stay safe online. If someone finds a deepfake that is harmful, they should report it to the police or flag it on the internet.

Recently, some well-known people have been affected by deepfakes. For example, a fake video made it look like Nigel Farage, a politician, had a fight with another important person, but it was not true. Jess Asato, another politician, is taking legal action against an AI company because a deepfake was made of her. She says there should be stronger rules about who can use your image, voice, or video. Professor Sander van der Linden from Cambridge University warns people to be careful if a video seems strange or shocking. He suggests searching for more information to check if it is real and not clicking on suspicious links. The police hope that by teaching everyone about deepfakes, people will be better able to protect themselves online.
