This same group was behind a series of cyber attacks on UK retailers, including M&S, earlier this year. The hackers, believed to be teenagers, have taunted Jaguar Land Rover online, asking, 'Where is my new car, Land Rover? ' The company has acknowledged the claims and is currently investigating the situation.

In private messages with a BBC reporter, one hacker explained how the group allegedly broke into Jaguar Land Rover's systems. The group is now trying to extort money from the company, but they have not confirmed whether they stole any private data or installed harmful software. The hackers did not provide more proof, and experts warn that such groups often exaggerate their achievements to get attention. However, the group posted images that seem to show internal instructions for fixing a car charging issue and computer logs, which suggest they may have gained access to sensitive information. Security researcher Kevin Beaumont said the evidence points to the hackers having access to Jaguar Land Rover's internal systems. The Information Commissioner's Office has been notified and is assessing the situation.

The group includes members from other well-known hacking groups like Shiny Hunters, Lapsus$, and Scattered Spider. Their Telegram channel now has nearly 52,000 subscribers, and they have been sharing details of their hacks and inside jokes. This is the fourth Telegram channel they have used, as previous ones were shut down. Scattered Spider was responsible for high-profile attacks on M&S, Co-op, and Harrods in April and May. In July, four people were arrested in connection with these hacks, but all have since been released on bail.
