Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that can produce hallucinogenic effects, making users feel disconnected from their surroundings. It is typically administered by medical professionals, and patients who receive the drug should be closely monitored due to its potential harmful effects. Investigators claim that Jasveen has been supplying ketamine from her residence in North Hollywood since at least 2019. The authorities described her home as a 'drug-selling emporium,' where they allegedly discovered over 80 vials of ketamine, along with thousands of pills containing methamphetamine, cocaine, and Xanax. This location, referred to as the 'Sangha Stash House' in the indictment, is where she is accused of packaging and distributing drugs. Erik Fleming, a co-defendant, stated that Jasveen 'only deals with high-end and celebs. ' In addition to her alleged drug dealings, Jasveen led a lavish lifestyle, which she frequently showcased on social media. She was known to socialize with celebrities and attended prestigious events like the Golden Globes and the Oscars. Following Matthew Perry's overdose, she continued to post images of her extravagant lifestyle, including trips to Japan and Mexico. Notably, just a day before the arrests were announced, she shared a post about visiting a hairdresser and dyeing her hair purple. The US Attorney's Office confirmed that the Instagram account where these posts were made belonged to her. Prosecutors allege that Jasveen began supplying ketamine to Perry after a fellow defendant, Dr. Salvador Plasencia, discovered that the actor was interested in the drug. Dr. Plasencia obtained the ketamine from another defendant, Dr. Mark Chavez, who had previously operated a ketamine clinic. It is also alleged that Dr. Plasencia instructed Perry's live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, on how to inject Perry with ketamine. Starting in October 2023, Jasveen reportedly began supplying Iwamasa with ketamine, and prosecutors assert that she was aware of the potential dangers associated with the drug. US Attorney Martin Estrada stated, 'These defendants cared more about profiting off of Mr. Perry than caring for his well-being. ' He further claimed that Jasveen was a 'major source of supply for ketamine to others as well as Perry. ' If convicted of all charges related to Perry's case, Jasveen could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison, with a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. Additionally, US authorities have uncovered her alleged involvement in another overdose death that occurred in 2019. Court documents indicate that she was aware of the risks associated with ketamine after selling it to a customer named Cody McLaury, who died from an overdose after using the drug. Following his death, one of his family members reached out to Jasveen, informing her that the ketamine she sold was the cause of his death. Investigators claim that shortly after receiving this message, Jasveen searched online for information about whether ketamine could be listed as a cause of death. Authorities are now preparing to bring charges against her in connection with this case as well.
