He admits that he used to listen to Stormzy in secret because he was worried his family, especially his father who is a pastor, would not approve of the language in some of Stormzy's songs. He would listen to the music on his computer and then delete the search history so he would not get caught.

Daniel's parents are very supportive of his music career. His mother, Annastacia, believes he can take his music to the next level because he works so hard. She says that God has blessed him with talent. His father, Pardon, says that family gives Daniel confidence and helps him stay grounded.
