Israel's singer, Noam Bettan, performed a love song called Michelle, while Romania's Alexandra Căpitănescu sang Choke Me, a rock opera that became popular with the audience. Australia and Italy also made it into the top five. However, the United Kingdom did not have a good night. Their performer, Look Mum No Computer, sang a quirky song called Eins, Zwei, Drei, but only received one point from the Ukrainian jury. He had already guessed that his song might not be for everyone, describing it as something people would either love or hate. Despite coming last, he congratulated Dara and said that trying your best is what matters most.

This year's Eurovision was also marked by protests and boycotts. Some countries, including Spain, Iceland, and Ireland, chose not to participate because of Israel's involvement, due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. There were protests in Vienna before the final, but the show went on without any major problems. The night was also special because it was the 70th anniversary of Eurovision.
