' Hards accused the Teamsters of using illegal tactics to pressure Amazon employees and third-party drivers to join their union. In addition to the strike threat, a recent investigation led by Senator Bernie Sanders revealed concerning information about Amazon's working conditions. The investigation found that Amazon's warehouse workers are often pushed to fulfill orders at such high speeds that it can lead to a significant number of injuries. The report indicated that Amazon has been reluctant to implement changes that would improve safety, primarily due to concerns about its profits. Amazon responded to the investigation by claiming that the report was 'wrong on the facts' and that it relied on outdated information that lacked context. The company, which employs around 800,000 people in the United States, has faced scrutiny over unsafe working conditions for many years. These concerns intensified during the Covid pandemic when online shopping surged, leading to protests from workers globally. Amid these controversies, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, acknowledged that the company needs to improve its treatment of employees. Senator Sanders, known for his pro-worker stance, initiated an investigation into Amazon's practices in June 2023. His team conducted numerous interviews and reviewed a vast number of documents.
