Amy Bedford is the owner of a small design agency called PALS, based in Sheffield. ' Amy and her team spent eight months working on the logo, collaborating with graphic designers, a typography studio, 3D artists, and one of the UK's best hand-drawn lettering artists. Their goal was to capture the 'beating heart' of Eurovision, making the logo feel alive and meaningful.

However, when the logo was revealed to the public, some Eurovision fans online accused Amy's team of using artificial intelligence to create it. These accusations appeared on Reddit and other social media platforms, with some people saying the logo looked too clean and simple, like something an AI would generate. Amy was disappointed by these comments and strongly denied using AI. She explained that the Eurovision brand is too important and well-known to risk using AI, especially since the logo needs to be trademarked and owned by the client. Amy also mentioned another design her team made—a heart with 70 different layers, created by a talented Spanish 3D artist. People thought this heart was made by AI too, but Amy clarified that it was made by a human using a computer, not by a robot.

Other artists have faced similar challenges. Eleanor Tomlinson, an illustrator from East Yorkshire, creates watercolour paintings of wildlife and the countryside. Some of her artwork has been copied and changed by AI, sometimes even keeping her signature. This made her feel upset, especially when her cheerful art was turned into something political. To show her work is original, Eleanor now shares behind-the-scenes photos of her creative process. She believes people will start to value art made by humans more. Jonathan Wilkinson, a Sheffield artist, has also lost freelance jobs because companies use AI instead of hiring him. He now posts his pencil sketches online to prove his art is handmade. Jonathan hopes the public can learn to spot the difference between AI art and real art. Alex Watson, a graphic design teacher, says fewer students are studying design because they worry about AI taking jobs. However, he believes young people want authentic, human-made art. Amy and other artists hope that people will continue to appreciate and support art created by real people, not just by computers.
