A cluster of galaxies positioned between the Firefly Sparkle galaxy and the telescope distorted the light, allowing scientists to observe it more clearly. Dr Kartheik Iyer, a co-leader of the research team from Columbia University in New York, explained, 'It takes the light coming from the firefly and bends it and amplifies it so we can see it in glorious detail.
