One fan, Beth Francis, who is 32 years old and from Grimsby, shared her heartbreak, saying she had been 'in tears all morning' because she could not see the band perform in Hull. She was furious with ticket resellers, calling their actions 'selfish and horrible. ' Ticketmaster, the company responsible for selling the tickets, has been contacted for a comment regarding the situation. Ms. Francis expressed her frustration by stating, 'Angry doesn't cut it. It's such a selfish and horrible thing to do. ' She noted that it is rare for big bands like Coldplay to perform in their area. Due to her family's mobility issues, this concert was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them, and she feels that it has been ruined. Another fan on social media pleaded with Coldplay to add another concert date in Hull, saying, 'Please add another date for Hull. Most of us couldn't log onto Ticketmaster due to asking for a code but they were not receiving any, and when we managed there were no tickets left. ' Coldplay is scheduled to perform at Hull's Craven Park in 2025. Emma Parkinson, who managed to secure one ticket during a special pre-sale for fans living in certain postcode areas, expressed her mixed feelings. She said, 'There's a tinge of disappointment, but utter elation that I'm going. There's nothing like seeing them in your own town. I'm lost for words. ' Ms. Parkinson wanted to get additional tickets for her family, especially for her father, who is unwell. She expressed her disappointment about the resale of tickets, saying, 'It's just really sad. ' Another fan, Freya Rhodes, who is 21 years old and from Beverley, was 'quite honestly devastated' after trying three different sales and having 'no luck at all. ' She had been looking forward to seeing Coldplay for a long time but was waiting for them to perform closer to her home. She was frustrated that people were reselling tickets, stating that the Hull shows should be 'for locals only. ' She added, 'Seeing people reselling is really, really annoying. ' In light of the situation, some fans are calling for stricter regulations regarding Ticketmaster accounts and the resale of tickets. One user on social media commented, 'Stronger rules needed for Ticketmaster accounts is a first step to make sure it’s real people. Then some tougher laws around the rest! ' Adam Webb, the campaign manager for FanFair Alliance, an organization that fights against large-scale online ticket reselling, expressed his disappointment at the number of Coldplay tickets being sold on offshore websites. He emphasized the urgent need for the government to take action to protect fans, either by outlawing the resale of tickets for profit or by capping resale prices. He stated, 'Without that legislation, and without proper enforcement, this situation will carry on occurring. ' Coldplay is set to perform 12 concerts across Hull and London next year, which will be their only European dates.
