One of the highlights of George's journey was Blackpool week. The couple performed a salsa to a medley of party anthems and received an almost-perfect score of 39. In week 10, the show introduced a new twist: contestants had to draw a dance style from a hat and perform it with only 10 seconds to prepare. George and Alexis danced a tango to When Doves Cry by Prince. They were distracted by George's big red coat and ended up laughing during the routine, which led to a low score. But in the semi-final, judge Craig Revel Horwood admitted he had not expected much from George at first, but was happy to be proven wrong. Judge Anton du Beke encouraged George to believe in himself and show more of his personality. Their Charleston, inspired by the TV sitcom The Inbetweeners, earned them a place in the final.
