BBC世界服務部將為加薩推出緊急廣播服務

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has announced plans to initiate an emergency radio service for the residents of Gaza, in light of the ongoing conflict in the region. This announcement was made by the World Service division of the BBC on a Wednesday. The objective of this programme is to equip the people of Gaza with up-to-date information and safety guidelines, including details on where to find shelter, food, and water. The BBC expressed confidence in their Arabic News team's ability to deliver this crucial service to the people of Gaza during their time of greatest need. This sentiment was echoed by the Director of the BBC World Service, Liliane Landor.

The Gaza radio service will be produced in Cairo and London, with the first programme scheduled to air on November 3. A second daily broadcast is set to commence from November 10. The BBC World Service, known for its non-commercial international broadcasting services, has a history of launching emergency broadcasts in times of crisis. For instance, it initiated a service for Gaza in the summer of 2014, following an escalation in hostilities. It also started an emergency radio service during the conflict in Sudan in May, and extended TV bulletins in Ukraine following the country's invasion last year.

In a recent incident, dozens were killed in Gaza's largest refugee camp due to an Israeli air strike aimed at 'Hamas terrorists'. This occurred at 03:21. The BBC World Service has been instrumental in covering such events through their emergency broadcasts.
