The law says libraries must support democracy, freedom of speech, and active citizenship. Librarians help people with practical things like using computers, applying for jobs, and understanding government services. Studies show that libraries give back more value than they cost, helping people save money and improve their skills. People trust libraries and see them as safe places where they can just be themselves.
