In 2021, El Salvador made history by becoming the first nation in the world to officially recognize Bitcoin as legal tender. He also criticized his political opponents, claiming they were responsible for many Salvadorans missing out on the benefits of Bitcoin's surge. The cryptocurrency market has been on an upward trend since Trump's election win on November 5, as many believe that his administration will be more favorable towards cryptocurrencies compared to the current administration led by President Joe Biden. However, on Thursday, Bitcoin's price experienced a decline, mirroring the global stock markets, after the US Federal Reserve indicated a slower pace of interest rate cuts in the coming year.
