Hayden Panettiere was a well-known actress who spent almost her entire life in the public eye. She began her career as a baby, appearing in her first commercial at just 11 months old, thanks to her mother, Lesley Vogel, who was also an actress. By the age of four, Hayden was already acting in the TV show One Life to Live, and by eight, she was on another soap opera, Guiding Light. Her early success came with a price, though. In her autobiography, Hayden wrote that she lost the chance to have a normal childhood, make friends, and keep her privacy. She felt like she was trained to always say yes and work hard, never having the option to say no.
As Hayden grew up, her career continued to blossom. She voiced Princess Dot in Pixar's A Bug's Life and became one of the youngest Grammy Award nominees for the read-along album. She acted in Remember the Titans with Denzel Washington and Raising Helen with Kate Hudson. While filming Racing Stripes, a movie about a zebra, she fell and hurt her back, an injury that still bothered her years later. In 2006, Hayden reached a new level of fame when she played Claire, a cheerleader with the power to heal, in the TV show Heroes. The show was a big hit, and Hayden became even more famous. However, the attention was not always positive. She was followed by paparazzi and faced harsh comments about her appearance, which made her feel insecure about her body for many years.
Hayden's personal life was also full of challenges. She dated her Heroes co-star Milo Ventimiglia when she was 18. Later, she met Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko, and they had a daughter together. After her daughter was born, Hayden struggled with postpartum depression and started drinking heavily to cope with her feelings. Klitschko helped her get treatment, but when their daughter was three, he asked Hayden to let him have custody because he was worried about her drinking. Hayden was heartbroken but agreed, believing it was best for her daughter. She stayed involved in her daughter's life and wrote about the pain of not being the mother she wanted to be.
Hayden continued acting and played Juliette Barnes, a troubled country singer, in the TV show Nashville. Her performance was praised, and she was nominated for two Golden Globe awards. However, the character's struggles often mirrored Hayden's real-life problems, making it difficult for her to separate her work from her personal life. She also faced an abusive relationship with Brian Hickerson, who was later jailed for domestic abuse. In 2023, Hayden returned to acting in Scream VI, but that same year, her younger brother Jansen died, adding to her grief. Despite all the hardships, Hayden wrote a book about her life, hoping to help others by sharing her story. She said she learned to accept both her successes and her struggles, and she looked forward to a better future, knowing that her experiences made her who she is today.
