' In a statement following Vance's meeting with Modi, US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer pointed out the lack of balance in the trade relationship between the two nations. In response, India has already reduced tariffs on several products and is considering further cuts to appease Trump. Vance also mentioned that the US aims to increase its exports of energy and defense equipment to India. Following their meeting, Modi hosted a dinner for Vance and his family, where cultural exchanges took place, including Modi gifting peacock feathers to Vance's children. Vance arrived in India with his wife Usha and their three children, who are excited to learn about their Indian heritage. Usha's parents immigrated to the US from Andhra Pradesh, and the family is keen to introduce their children to their Indian roots.
