Alibaba Group is developing a new DingTalk app that will work with Huawei's HarmonyOS. DingTalk is now a key part of Alibaba's plan for growth and will join forces with Huawei in areas like tech innovation and business growth. nnAlibaba, which owns the South China Morning Post, is making this move as other big Chinese internet companies are also building apps for HarmonyOS. Huawei introduced HarmonyOS in 2019 as an alternative to Android after they were put on a US government list that limits their use of American tech. Huawei's leader, Ren Zhengfei, wants to bring more users and companies into the HarmonyOS world to lessen the impact of US sanctions. nnHuawei's new phones are selling really well, which gives them confidence. DingTalk is one of the first business apps made specifically for HarmonyOS. Alibaba has chosen DingTalk and three other projects to focus on for big new ideas to help the company grow in the future. These projects will act like separate companies and make their own decisions, said Alibaba's new CEO, Eddie Wu.
