「可怕」的藝術作品將在臨終關懷活動中展出

A unique art campaign is set to take place to support a hospice that provides care for individuals nearing the end of their lives. The campaign, titled My Lovely Postcards, will showcase a variety of small artworks created by numerous artists, including the well-known Jamie Lee Matthias. Jamie has gained popularity for his amusingly 'terrible' paintings, and he has created a special portrait of Sophie Law, a presenter at BBC Radio Oxford. Sophie expressed her delight, stating that Jamie had 'caught her best side' in the painting, which brought a smile to her face. This particular artwork was inspired by a photo Sophie took with Tony, a colorful ox that was made for BBC Radio Oxford by a local artist known as Yarnsy. Jamie's journey into the art world began when he presented a painting to his wife on their wedding day, and now he is using his talent to contribute to a meaningful cause. The exhibition will be held at The Cloister Gallery located in St John the Evangelist Church in Oxford this weekend, and it has attracted a lot of attention from the community. Jamie has reported receiving numerous orders for his artwork from various places around the globe, and he enjoys hearing the positive feedback from people who appreciate the joy and laughter his art brings. He humbly acknowledges that his artistic skills are not the best, but he embraces the fun aspect of creating art. The My Lovely Postcards project aims to raise funds for Beth's Bursary Fund, which is dedicated to training and educating palliative care nurses. This fund was established in memory of a young woman who passed away at the age of 32 and received care from the compassionate nurses at Sobell House. The exhibition will feature original pieces from various celebrities, including Dame Judi Dench, who has also contributed a painting. The postcards showcasing the artwork will be available for auction online from May 1 to May 25, allowing art lovers to bid on these unique pieces while supporting a noble cause. This initiative not only highlights the creativity of the artists involved but also emphasizes the importance of providing quality care for those in need during their final days.
