The old BBC Introducing stage, which helped new artists get noticed, has been replaced by The Canopy. Some people are disappointed about this change, but organizers say the new stage will still support emerging musicians. Singer Beth McCarthy, who performed on the BBC Introducing stage last year, says it was an important step in her career. The festival says it wants to give more opportunities to a wider range of new artists and has invested in bigger stages and better production.
