Maisie wants her fans to know that 'Florescence' will sound different from her earlier work. She says the album has a new tone and style, but it still tells the same kinds of stories, just from a different point of view. For example, her older song 'History of Man' was about heartbreak, but the new album ends with a calm and peaceful song called 'Nothing Like Being In Love'. Maisie admits that making this album wasn’t always easy. She’s had to deal with insecurities, anxiety, and even some vocal problems. She remembers getting upset during a soundcheck when she was supporting Noah Kahan in 2024. But things have improved, and Maisie has found inspiration by working with other artists. She collaborated with Julia Michaels, who wrote the song 'Kingmaker', and Marcus Mumford from Mumford & Sons, who sings on 'If You Let Me'. Maisie also worked with Amelia Dimoldenberg, who directed the trailer for the album and the video for 'My Regards'. The video was inspired by the British teen film 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging', and fans loved seeing the main actress Georgia Groome in it. Maisie says filming the video was a wild experience, especially when she had to walk around in a giant daisy costume in the rain. Maisie is planning a big show at the O2 in London next year, and she’s a bit nervous but hopes her fans will come. She’s excited for everyone to hear 'Florescence', which is out now.
