Over 6,000 people took part, drawing everything from their favorite childhood comics to music bands and even drawings made by their children. The project was about more than just making perfect art; it was about enjoying the process and expressing yourself.

Many artists and creative people helped with the Draw! project, including comedians and fashion designers. They gave creative prompts and encouraged people to look at the world in new ways. Nicola Storr, an illustrator, noticed that Hockney's name gave people the confidence to try drawing, even if they thought they couldn't. She said that Hockney's message was to 'look, look and look again,' and that this inspired many families to join the workshops. Alison McIntyre, another artist, said that Hockney believed art should be for everyone, not just for experts. She called him 'the people's artist' because he made art feel open and welcoming. Thanks to Hockney, many people in Bradford felt proud of their city and inspired to be creative, no matter their age or skill level.
