Farmers are doing their best to help their cows by using fans and sprinklers, but the heat is still a big problem.

The dry weather is also affecting the grass in the fields. Mike Kendon, a weather expert, says that what used to be considered extreme weather is now becoming normal. On Sam Woolford's farm, the grass is thin and does not have much nutrition for the cows. Sam's family has been farming for five generations, and they have noticed that the weather is changing. Even ice cream producers are feeling the effects of the hot weather. At Marshfield Farm, they use milk from their own cows to make ice cream. Rory Hawkins, who helps manage the herd, says that while hot weather is good for ice cream sales, it causes the cows to suffer from heat stress and produce less milk. Rory and his siblings work together on the family farm, and they are determined to keep going despite the challenges.

Young farmers like Sam Woolford and Lara Browne say they enjoy working outside and caring for the animals. They know the weather is changing, but they are committed to making their farms as strong as possible. Lara says she is already thinking about the next generation of farmers. These young people are determined to adapt to the changing climate and continue farming for years to come.
