Joanna Page, the actress who portrays Stacey in the beloved sitcom Gavin and Stacey, has recently expressed her feelings of anxiety regarding the script for the show's final episode. In an interview, she revealed, 'I finally have got the script,' but she also admitted to being quite terrified about the possibility of revealing too much. Before receiving the script, she felt comfortable answering questions because she genuinely did not know what would happen next. However, now that she is aware of the plot, she feels it is safer to remain silent. 'I’m terrified,' she confessed. Earlier this year, the show's creators, Ruth Jones and James Corden, announced that Gavin and Stacey would return for one last episode, which is set to air on Christmas Day. The sitcom first premiered on BBC Three in 2007 and ran for three series, along with two Christmas specials. The last episode, which aired in 2019, ended on a cliffhanger when Nessa, played by Ruth Jones, proposed to Smithy, portrayed by James Corden. When Joanna was asked about the possibility of Stacey and Smithy getting married, she cleverly dodged the question, stating, 'My lips are sealed. ' She also refrained from revealing whether viewers would ever learn what transpired during the mysterious fishing trip. Joanna Page expressed that she shares the same curiosity as the audience, saying, 'I’m the same as everybody else. I’m like, oh my gosh, what’s going to happen? ' She has been eagerly waiting for five years to discover the outcome. Currently, Joanna is busy filming a new series alongside Wynne Evans, where they explore the stunning Welsh coastline. It was during a break from this filming that she finally received the long-awaited Gavin and Stacey script. She recalled that it was around seven o’clock in the evening, and she was filled with anticipation, wondering, 'Are they gonna send it? ' After receiving a message confirming that the script was finished, she was at a service station waiting for her burger when she decided to check her phone. To her surprise, the script had arrived. 'I looked around – it was quite surreal,' she said. 'I thought, I’m standing here in the services, waiting for my burger, and everybody else is ordering, and on my phone right now I have got something on here that everybody would love to know what’s going on. ' Recently, Joanna was spotted in Barry, the Vale of Glamorgan town where much of Gavin and Stacey was filmed. While there, she took the opportunity to visit Marco’s cafe, where her character Stacey worked during the third series. 'I haven’t been in Barry for years and years and years, unless I’ve been filming,' she remarked. 'So, you know on the side of Marco’s cafe where he’s got photos of all of us. I’ve never seen that because they take it down every time we film. So when we got there, I was like, oh my gosh, can I have a photo with myself?
