Daddy Vego passed away in 2016 at the age of 74, but his legacy lives on. His family and friends now run the People's Sound Record Shop, keeping his passion for reggae music alive. The shop is filled with Jamaican flags, records, CDs, and posters, and it continues to be a gathering place for people who love reggae.

The plaque will be unveiled just before the Notting Hill Carnival, one of London's biggest celebrations of Caribbean culture. The event will help more people learn about Daddy Vego and his impact on music in Britain.
