Mark and Kathryn Cargill, a couple from Oversley Green near Alcester, had a unique experience when their home was chosen as a filming location for the show. The BBC production team left a note at their door, asking if they could use the house for some scenes. The Cargills agreed, thinking it would be an interesting adventure. Their house was used for both inside and outside shots in the first episode, where the main characters discover a body. Mark, who is an engineer, was especially curious to see how everything worked behind the scenes. He described how funny it was to hear the director calling for more fake blood during filming, and how the family dog ended up licking some of it.

The Cargills were impressed by how professional the film crew was. They moved all the furniture in and out and made sure everything was put back in place. The only thing left behind was a single piece of a jigsaw puzzle. Other locations in Alcester, like Ragley Hall and Church House, were also used for filming. The presence of the cast and crew caused a buzz in the local community, with many people sharing photos and videos on social media whenever they spotted filming.
