The new curriculum will replace the general studies program with specific science and humanities subjects. The humanities subject will include topics like sex education, sustainable development, and financial literacy.

School principals have given their thoughts on the new curriculum. While they appreciate the thoroughness of the plan, they're concerned about the short time frame for teachers to adapt. They're calling for early and ongoing teacher training to ensure a smooth transition. The new curriculum will also incorporate national development topics, which schools are already teaching as part of national security education. The education minister has mentioned that there will be some adjustments to the school schedule to accommodate the new subjects.
