Nicolas Burquier, managing director for Pizza Hut Europe and Canada, explained that the acquisition was focused on maintaining customer experience and saving jobs where possible. He emphasized that the immediate priority is to keep the acquired locations running smoothly and to support employees during the transition.

Zoe Adjay, a senior lecturer in hospitality at the University of East London, noted that Pizza Hut was a pioneer in bringing fast food to the UK in the 1970s. Adjay pointed out that Pizza Hut has not established a strong presence on social media compared to some of its competitors, which has made it harder to attract younger customers. Danni Hewson, head of financial analysis at AJ Bell, added that rising operating costs and cautious consumer spending have contributed to Pizza Hut's difficulties. She explained that DC London Pie had tried to rescue Pizza Hut's UK operations less than a year ago, but running a large casual dining business is challenging. Hewson believes that Yum! Brands' decision to take back control of the brand is smart, as the company has decades of experience and data about what makes a pizza restaurant successful.
