The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is regaining its momentum post the Covid-19 pandemic, with artificial intelligence (AI) being a key component in a wide range of products, from bicycles to baby bottles. The event, scheduled to commence on January 9 in Las Vegas, is expected to host more than 3,500 exhibitors and approximately 130,000 visitors.

The number of exhibitors and attendees has seen a steady increase each year since the pandemic led to the 2021 edition being an online-only event. Carolina Milanesi, an analyst for Creative Strategies, notes that some people were skeptical about returning to the event post-Covid. However, smaller companies lacking the brand power to garner attention at their own events are opting to participate in CES. One such start-up, Lumen, will be showcasing its glasses for the blind at CES 2024. These glasses are designed to guide wearers on safe walking paths, even helping them avoid puddles.

Major brands such as Amazon, Google, Intel, Netflix, Samsung, Sony, and TikTok will also be present at the event, according to the Consumer Technology Association, the event's organizer. Analysts predict that this year's CES will be dominated by AI-related product pitches. Thomas Husson, a principal analyst at Forrester, anticipates that the primary theme will revolve around how AI can facilitate new, invisible, and immersive consumer experiences.
